The Monument honors the courage, sacrifice, and unifying legacy of the Special Operations Forces, CIA Operators, and Afghan allies who answered our nation's call in the days following September 11, 2001.
It symbolizes the unity of purpose that defines our nation — a place of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude for generations to come.
The men and women of these units were the first Americans to answer our nation’s call after September 11 — and it is their legacy this Foundation preserves.
On October 16, 2026, more than 240 guests — the men and women of Task Force Dagger, Gold Star families, first responders, and friends of the Foundation — gathered at America's Response Monument in Liberty Park, and then at Convene at Brookfield Place, to mark twenty-five years since the first Americans answered our nation's call.
A ceremony at the statue above Ground Zero. An evening of stories told by the men who lived them. A toast to the Fallen, by name.

The commemoration lasted one evening. The legacy is the work of a generation — and it now moves forward on three fronts.
The commemoration has passed; the mission has not. Year-round gifts preserve the Monument and sustain the Strength and Honor Scholarship — at any level.
